Early Intervention Program - Genesee County Health Department

This initiative provides early intervention services for families with infants and toddlers who have special needs. Services are delivered in the child's home or in community environments such as daycare centers, playgroups, or libraries. The services are customized according to the child's individual needs and strengths and may encompass early identification, screening and assessment, service coordination, specialized instruction, speech pathology and audiology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, psychological support, nursing care, nutritional guidance, social work, family training, counseling, support groups for parents and children, vision services, assistive technology, respite care, and behavioral intervention services.

Intake Process: Referrals can be made by pediatricians, hospitals, childcare providers, or parents themselves.

Cost: No fees are charged for these services.
