This initiative provides heating grants to income-qualified RG&E customers who are at risk of disconnection in the RG&E and NYSEG regions. The program is fuel blind, offering grants of $200 once per season. Additionally, it extends support to active-duty military members, veterans, and their partners who have an active disconnect notice, with no income criteria required.

- To qualify, applicants must hold an active account with NYSEG or RG&E, comply with the HEAP income guidelines, possess an active disconnect notice, and have exhausted all other assistance options like HEAP, food stamps, Medicaid, and local emergency aid. Active military personnel and veterans can apply without regard to income, provided they have an active disconnect notice. Grants are available once every 12 months. For military personnel and veterans, the account can be in a spouse's or partner's name, and while they do not need to live in the household, the spouse or partner must.
