This initiative aids qualifying National Grid gas customers in handling their home energy expenses by offering a monthly bill credit that takes into account the customer's HEAP benefits, family size, income, energy costs, and the presence of a vulnerable household member. Automatic enrollment in the Budget Plan is included unless the customer chooses to opt out. This program replaces the previous Residential Reduced Rate Program and was implemented on January 1, 2018.

- Only National Grid gas customers are eligible, and income guidelines must be met. Automatic enrollment occurs if a HEAP payment was made to the National Grid account in the last 14 months or if the customer provides proof of participation in qualifying programs such as TANF, Safety Net Assistance, SSI, Medicaid, Snap, Veterans Disability Pension, Spouse Pension, or Child Health Plus.
