This initiative offers short-term financial support for individuals and families in need as they work towards becoming self-sufficient. Family Assistance (FA) delivers cash aid to qualifying families with minor children residing with a parent or guardian, adhering to TANF regulations with a five-year limit. Safety Net Assistance (SN) caters to individuals, couples, and families who do not qualify for FA due to time restrictions, providing cash benefits for up to two years, after which non-cash assistance vouchers are issued. Emergency Assistance Funds (EAF) and Emergency Safety Net Assistance (ESNA) offer support to families in crisis situations that jeopardize their stability, including diversion payments to avert the need for ongoing assistance, eviction prevention, and utility shut-off issues. Emergency Adult Assistance (EAA) aids individuals on SSI facing unforeseen emergencies, such as urgent housing needs or disasters like fires or floods, and assists with the replacement of lost SSI checks due to theft.
