This initiative features a community-driven volunteer group dedicated to helping local seniors maintain their independence. It provides living arrangements for older adults with limited income and includes the Senior Options for Independence Program (SOFI), which offers care management and transportation services. Care Managers engage with residents to evaluate their needs, provide necessary services, and follow up to ensure they can remain in their homes as long as possible. The Elderbus service operates five days a week, assisting seniors with essential tasks such as grocery shopping, personal care, and medical appointments, with options for transportation beyond Fairport and Perinton.

Fees: SOFI and Elder Bus services are free, with suggested donations of $3.00 for one-way trips or $5.00 for round trips, though donations are optional.
