This initiative provides heating grants of $200 for RG&E customers who qualify based on income and have an active disconnect notice in the RG&E and NYSEG service areas. The program is fuel blind and grants can be accessed once per season. Additionally, active-duty military members, veterans, and their partners can receive heating grants without any income requirements if they have an active disconnect notice.

- To qualify, applicants must have an active account with either NYSEG or RG&E, meet HEAP income guidelines, possess an active disconnect notice, and have exhausted all other assistance programs, including HEAP, food stamps, Medicaid, and local or county emergency aid. Active military members and well-discharged veterans can apply without income restrictions, provided they have an active disconnect notice. Grants can be received once every 12 months, and the account can be in the name of a spouse or partner, who must reside in the household.
