This program provides urgent temporary financial support to help cover utility bills and rent. It also includes online assistance for screening benefits and understanding eligibility and application procedures for programs like Temporary Assistance, Food Stamps, Health Insurance, and tax credits through the website www.mybenefits.ny.gov.
To apply, individuals can obtain applications at two DHS locations (691 St. Paul Street and 111 Westfall Road), at numerous community service agencies, or via the website http://otda.ny.gov/programs/applications/. For emergency food or rent assistance, applications must be submitted in person at 691 St. Paul Street.
There are no fees associated with these services.
