The initiative delivers mental health evaluations and consultations to the courts and other criminal justice agencies in Monroe County, as mandated by New York State Mental Hygiene Law. It also offers temporary financial support for medications to individuals with mental health issues who are being released from local jails or hospitals, or those returning to Monroe County from state prisons, provided they have applied for Medicaid under Chapter 15 of Kendra's Law. The Medication Grant program assists counties in covering the costs of mental health medications (and some additional medications) while individuals wait for their Medicaid applications to be processed.
Intake Procedure: Referrals are accepted from courts, criminal justice, and other pertinent agencies.
Fees: Services are provided at no cost.

- There are no eligibility requirements for mental health evaluations (referrals must come from the courts or justice system). Medication assistance is available for individuals with mental illness being released from jail, local hospitals, or those returning from state prison who have applied for Medicaid.
