This initiative supports students with disabilities and adults facing employment barriers, helping them attain independence and engage in productive work. VESID manages special education, offers guidance to those transitioning from school to the workforce, and provides job preparation and placement services for adults with disabilities. Additionally, VESID aids businesses by offering free recruitment services, compliance guidance on Diversity, Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity, and Americans with Disabilities Act standards, as well as sensitivity training and consultations for Employee Assistance Programs. Other locations on Long Island include Riverhead at Plaza 518 on East Main Street (Phone: (631) 952-6005) and Hauppauge at the New York State Office Building on Veterans Memorial Highway (Phone: (631) 952-6005). VESID collaborates with the Long Island Working Partnership for Workers With Disabilities and Business and Industry, along with the Nassau and Suffolk Placement Networks.
