The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is a federally supported initiative aimed at helping qualifying households manage their energy expenses. Eligible participants may receive one standard HEAP benefit each program year and could qualify for emergency HEAP benefits if they face the risk of depleting their fuel supply or having their utility service disconnected. The application period for the 2024-2025 Regular HEAP benefit began on November 1, 2024. The First and Second Emergency benefits are set to open on January 2, 2025. Additionally, the Heating Equipment Repair and Replacement benefit and the HEAP Clean and Tune benefit both commenced on October 1, 2024, while the Cooling Assistance Benefit is expected to start on April 15, 2025.
