Hempstead Works Career Center

This initiative provides career services tailored for dislocated workers and economically disadvantaged residents of the Town of Hempstead who face challenges in securing employment. The services offered encompass testing, computerized assessments (including self-assessment), workshops, and personal development seminars focused on job search strategies, resume crafting, and adapting to the modern workplace. Additionally, it includes career counseling, basic education programs such as skills re-dedication, ESL, and GED preparation, along with institutional skills training and college certificate programs. Skills development seminars are available for Introduction to Computers, Keyboarding, Microsoft Word, and Excel. The program also offers job development, job research support, access to the Resource Room, and work experience opportunities for economically disadvantaged youth.
