This initiative offers after-school programs and full-day child care throughout school breaks, including summer, for children aged 5-17 living in the Town of Hempstead. Volunteers assist with homework, focusing on enhancing reading, language skills, mathematics, and concept development. The program also includes recreational activities and snacks. The coordinator encourages collaboration with local schools, and bilingual staff are available. Older participants (ages 13-17) can volunteer, serve as translators, or intern with local businesses.
