Roosevelt High School - School Based Health Center

This initiative presents a service delivery model that guarantees thorough care for adolescents, enhancing the overall physical and emotional health of students. On-site healthcare availability minimizes absenteeism and motivates adolescents to take charge of their health. Our School-Based Health Center (SBHC) consists of licensed healthcare professionals who partner with schools to tackle a wide array of issues and negative experiences impacting students' healthy growth. They collaborate with school nurses to deliver expanded medical and behavioral health services during school hours. At the SBHC, your child can access services at no cost to you, irrespective of insurance coverage. While the SBHC can bill insurance, there are no co-pays or bills for you, and there's no need to switch from your primary care provider (PCP). Services offered by the School-Based Health Center include: comprehensive physical exams; medications and prescriptions; medical lab tests; vaccines and routine immunizations; medical care for both urgent and chronic conditions; screenings for vision, hearing, asthma, obesity, and other health issues; as well as health education and mental health counseling.
