The Nassau Day Training Program delivers vocational and community integration services, acting as a job placement center for special needs individuals in Nassau County. Our initiative focuses on providing outreach and mentorship for those facing severe persistent mental illness and co-occurring disorders, which may also involve additional health challenges. The primary goal is to facilitate a swift transition into the workforce for our participants. We collaborate with our members to enhance their community integration and independent functioning in preparation for employment. Throughout the program, participants may engage in various levels of integration and independence, including work readiness, volunteer opportunities, or actual competitive jobs. Additionally, we provide services sponsored by Adult Career and Continuing Education Services Vocational Rehabilitation (ACCES-VR), such as Diagnostic Vocational Evaluations, Supported Employment Services, and Office Skills Training and Placement.
