The program aids low-income families in finding and financing quality housing within the private market. Funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the HCV Program contributes a part of a family's monthly rent, allowing access to a wide variety of housing options in different neighborhoods. Participants can opt for a single-family home, an apartment, or a condominium. This program empowers families to enhance their personal, economic, and social skills, facilitating their move from subsidized to market-rate housing. After a unit has successfully passed inspection and rent is established, families will contribute a percentage of their adjusted monthly income towards rent and utilities, while NHHA covers the remaining balance.
