The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is a federally funded initiative designed to help eligible households address their energy requirements. If you qualify, you can receive one standard HEAP benefit each program year and may also qualify for emergency HEAP assistance if you face the risk of running out of fuel or having your utility services disconnected. The 2024-2025 Regular HEAP benefit became available on November 1, 2024, while the First and Second Emergency benefits are set to open on January 2, 2025. Additionally, the Heating Equipment Repair and Replacement benefit opened on October 1, 2024, and the HEAP Clean and Tune benefit also started on October 1, 2024. The Cooling Assistance Benefit is expected to commence on April 15, 2025.

- Regular HEAP is available to low-income families, seniors aged 60 and over, and individuals with permanent disabilities who receive Food Stamps, TANF, or SSI; Emergency HEAP is for low-income families and individuals facing emergencies related to furnace repair or replacement.
