The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is a federally funded initiative designed to help eligible households address their energy requirements. If you qualify, you may receive one regular HEAP benefit each program year and might also qualify for emergency HEAP benefits if you face the risk of running out of fuel or having your utility service disconnected. The Regular HEAP benefit for the 2024-2025 program year commenced on November 1, 2024. The First and Second Emergency benefits are set to begin on January 2, 2025. Additionally, the Heating Equipment Repair and Replacement benefit started on October 1, 2024, and the Cooling Assistance Benefit is anticipated to open on April 15, 2025.

- Regular HEAP: Available to low-income families, individuals aged 60 and older, and those with permanent disabilities receiving Food Stamps, TANF, or SSI; Emergency HEAP is for low-income families and individuals facing emergencies related to furnace repair or replacement.
