Emergency Services Office - Albion - Community Action Of Orleans & Genesee

This initiative provides urgent assistance on a walk-in or referral basis, which encompasses access to a food pantry, cleaning and hygiene products, diapers, and baby wipes (subject to availability), vouchers for clothing and household necessities, as well as emergency rental aid to avert eviction (dependent on funding). Additionally, emergency utility assistance is available to prevent service interruptions (also based on funding). Case management services are offered to help individuals and families connect with vital community resources, create personalized plans, and receive ongoing support, all aimed at fostering long-term stability and self-sufficiency while meeting immediate needs.

Intake Process: Individuals can call or visit during operational hours. Documentation of identity and income is necessary; refer to the requirements outlined below. Identification Proof: For adults aged 18 and above: a government-issued ID, such as a driver's license, state ID card, or a photo-bearing benefit card. For children: a birth certificate, insurance card, or student ID. Income Verification: For wage earners: the two latest pay stubs. For SSI/SSDI recipients: a Social Security award letter or the most recent bank statement indicating deposits. For pension or annuity recipients: an annual award letter or the latest bank statement showing deposits. For child support recipients: a court order or a printout of payment history from the child support website. For TANF/DSS: the DSS budget.

Cost: Services are provided free of charge to qualifying individuals and families.
