The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is a federally funded initiative designed to help eligible households address their energy needs. Eligible participants may receive one regular HEAP benefit each program year and may qualify for emergency HEAP assistance if they face the risk of running out of fuel or having their utility service disconnected. The 2024-2025 Regular HEAP benefit became available on November 1, 2024, while the First and Second Emergency benefits are set to launch on January 2, 2025. Additionally, the Heating Equipment Repair and Replacement benefit started on October 1, 2024, and the HEAP Clean and Tune benefit also opened on October 1, 2024. The Cooling Assistance Benefit is expected to open on April 15, 2025.

- Regular HEAP is available to low-income families, individuals aged 60 and older, and those with permanent disabilities who receive Food Stamps, TANF, or SSI; Emergency HEAP is for low-income families and individuals facing an emergency situation.
