The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is a federally funded initiative designed to help eligible households cover their energy costs. If you qualify, you may receive one regular HEAP benefit each program year and might also qualify for emergency HEAP assistance if you risk running out of fuel or having your utility service disconnected. The 2024-2025 Regular HEAP benefit began on November 1, 2024, while the First and Second Emergency benefits are set to open on January 2, 2025. Additionally, the Heating Equipment Repair and Replacement benefit was available starting October 1, 2024, and the Cooling Assistance Benefit is expected to commence on April 15, 2025.

- Regular HEAP: Available for low-income families, individuals aged 60 and older, and those with permanent disabilities receiving Food Stamps, TANF, or SSI; Emergency HEAP is for low-income families and individuals facing emergencies.
