CAARES engages in research, educational initiatives, and support services aimed at improving the experiences of autistic and neurodiverse individuals in educational and professional environments. In collaboration with the Anderson Center for Autism, CAARES is developing an Autistic Supportive College at SUNY Empire, while also offering community outreach and career assistance tailored for autistic and neurodiverse college students. The initiative focuses on workforce development for professionals and businesses to foster inclusive practices, conducting innovative research that benefits autistic and neurodiverse individuals, and maintaining partnerships with autistic and neurodivergent communities and organizations worldwide. It is essential for parents, educators, employers, and service providers to have access to current and reliable information about autism. By collaborating with partners throughout New York State and internationally, the center aims to disseminate this information, along with training and education for parents, professionals, employers, and community organizations that support autistic and neurodiverse individuals.
