Regular Benefits can vary from $20 to $500, influenced by factors such as income, the age of household members, energy costs, and living situations. Generally, this is a one-time benefit available within the program year. Emergency Benefits are offered to those eligible for HEAP facing energy-related crises, like power shutoffs or insufficient fuel supplies. Households must pass a resource test to qualify. Additionally, Heating Equipment Repair or Replacement Benefits can help repair or replace essential heating systems. Cooling Assistance Benefits are available for those who have received a regular benefit exceeding $21 and have a medical condition worsened by heat, enabling them to purchase and install cooling devices. Clean and Tune Benefits can cover the cleaning of heating equipment and may include chimney cleaning, minor repairs, and the installation of safety devices, with costs covered up to $400.
