Central Islip High School

The District provides a range of classes for adults aged 21 and older, including ENL (English as a New Language) courses in Conversational English, Listening/Speaking and Communication Skills, Grammar, Vocabulary, and Writing, tailored to meet community needs. Additionally, there is a General Educational Development (GED) preparation program aimed at helping out-of-school adults acquire the necessary skills to succeed on the TASC Test. The Central Islip Adult Education Program offers various classes to enhance medical education or assist in starting a medical career, in collaboration with the Lighthouse Resource Center, Inc. Available National Certification Medical Careers include EKG Technician - CET (Electrocardiography), Phlebotomy Technician - CPT, Medical Insurance: Billing & Coding, C.P.R. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training, Medical Assistant (CMA), and Medical Administrative Assistant. Other course offerings for adults include Cooking, Cake Decorating, Basic Computer Course, Job Preparation and Training, Swimming for Children/Adults, Electricity, Plumbing, and Medical Training Classes.
