This initiative provides housing assistance to families experiencing homelessness who are referred by the Suffolk County Department of Social Services. It includes shelter, case management, housing relocation support, transportation, intake, assessment, and crisis intervention services. The goal is to create a secure environment for homeless families and help them obtain permanent housing. Access to emergency housing requires a referral from a DSS office or hotline operator. For Nassau County, contact (516)227-8519 or the emergency number at (516)573-8626. For Suffolk County, reach out to (631)854-9517 or the emergency number at (631)854-9100. If you do not qualify for DSS services, please contact the Long Island Coalition for the Homeless at (631)464-4314.
