Town Clerk

The Town Clerk attends all meetings of the Town Board and manages the minutes, legal notices, certifications of Town records, and the submission of change of zone applications. This role includes issuing various licenses such as those for dogs, hunting, fishing, and marriage, as well as licenses for bingo, games of chance, clamming, taxicabs, tow trucks, peddlers, refuse, auto junkyards, commuter parking, and disability parking permits. Additionally, the Town Clerk serves as the Registrar of Vital Statistics, issuing Birth and Death Certificates, and acts as the Commissioner of Elections for special elections. The Records Center and Archives also fall under the jurisdiction of the Town Clerk, who is authorized to perform civil marriage ceremonies.
