- A referral from a domestic violence organization is required. Access to all Emergency Housing for Homeless Persons necessitates a referral from a DSS office or hotline. For Nassau County, contact (516)227-8519 or the emergency line at (516)573-8626. For Suffolk County, call (631)854-9517 or the emergency number at (631)854-9100. If DSS services are not available to you, reach out to the Long Island Coalition for the Homeless at (631)464-4314.
