- Individuals who have experienced domestic violence. Access to all Emergency Housing for Homeless Persons requires a referral from a DSS office or hotline operator. For Nassau County, contact (516)227-8519 or the emergency line at (516)573-8626. For Suffolk County, reach out to (631)854-9517 or the emergency line at (631)854-9100. If you do not qualify for DSS services, please call the Long Island Coalition for the Homeless at (631)464-4314.
