Brennan High School

This alternative program is designed for high school students with disabilities who have diverse educational and emotional requirements. Academic struggles are often linked to emotional issues, which may arise from family disturbances. The program offers a rich educational setting aligned with Common Core Learning Standards. Students benefit from continuous support from consulting psychiatrists, either from the Office of Mental Health or BOCES. For those who can integrate into a standard high school, transitional classes are available. Additionally, an after-school program is provided for students unable to attend a full-day school due to their disabilities or those who work during the day and need after-school education to fulfill their high school requirements. Specialized services, including related and psychiatric consultation services, are available for those in need. The PASS Program at Brennan High School offers a structured environment to address instructional and behavioral challenges in a small group context, catering to high school students who may or may not be classified as special education students but require alternative education. Students exhibiting truancy, non-compliance, or disruptive behavior, as well as those at risk due to low achievement, are suitable candidates for this program, which provides extensive support to promote their success.
