Advocacy Center
Community Resource
Acerca de este recurso
The Advocacy Center provides essential services for adults and teens who have experienced abusive relationships, children who have witnessed domestic violence, and individuals who have faced sexual abuse, assault, or harassment. Their offerings include a confidential 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, legal advocacy, accompaniment to services like hospitals or law enforcement, emotional support, empowerment groups, information and referrals, as well as education on prevention and risk reduction. For further details on how the Advocacy Center can assist those impacted by domestic or sexual violence, visit www.theadvocacycenter.org or call their 24-hour hotline at 607-277-5000. Donations of adult clothing can be taken to Trader K's, while children's clothing can be dropped off at Mama Goose; both locations provide credit to the Advocacy Center for clients' use. Other donations such as diapers, new toiletries, gently used toys, household linens, bus passes, gift cards, and cash for holiday gifts are also welcomed. For used cell phones, drop them off at the United Way, located at 313 North Aurora Street, Ithaca, or call the Advocacy Center business line for more information at 607-277-3203. To initiate services, individuals can reach out to the 24-hour hotline at 607-277-5000. There are no fees for services, although honorariums are appreciated for educational presentations.
