The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is a federally funded initiative designed to help eligible households cover their energy expenses. If you qualify, you can receive one standard HEAP benefit each program year and may also qualify for emergency assistance if you risk running out of fuel or having your utility service disconnected. The Regular HEAP benefit for the 2024-2025 period commenced on November 1, 2024, while the First and Second Emergency benefits are set to begin on January 2, 2025. Additionally, the Heating Equipment Repair and Replacement benefit started on October 1, 2024, and the Cooling Assistance Benefit is anticipated to open on April 15, 2025.

- Regular HEAP: Available to low-income families, individuals aged 60 and above, and those with permanent disabilities, as well as recipients of Food Stamps, TANF, or SSI; Emergency HEAP is for low-income families and individuals facing urgent situations.
