This initiative offers assistance in obtaining a monthly discount on water bills, specifically applied to the meter facility charge, with the potential to lower costs by as much as 25% for an average residential bill. Individuals who have previously received aid through the state’s Low Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) are automatically enrolled. Additionally, those who participated in other utility affordability programs or received support from qualifying government programs within the last year may also be eligible. These programs include: Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance, Federal Lifeline Program, Federal Public Housing Assistance, Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservation, Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP), Medicaid, Safety Net Assistance, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Supplemental Security Income, Temporary Assistance to Needy Persons/Families, Tribal Head Start, Tribal Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, and Veterans Pension and Survivors Benefit Programs.
