The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is a federally funded initiative designed to help qualifying households address their energy requirements. Eligible participants can receive one regular HEAP benefit each program year and may qualify for emergency HEAP benefits if they face the risk of running out of fuel or having their utility services interrupted. The 2024-2025 Regular HEAP benefit became available on November 1, 2024, while the First and Second Emergency benefits are set to open on January 2, 2025. Additionally, the Heating Equipment Repair and Replacement benefit was launched on October 1, 2024, and the Cooling Assistance Benefit is expected to open on April 15, 2025.

- Regular HEAP: Low-income households, seniors aged 60 and older, and individuals with permanent disabilities receiving Food Stamps, TANF, or SSI; Emergency HEAP is for low-income families and individuals facing emergencies.
