The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is a federally funded initiative designed to help eligible households address their energy requirements. Eligible participants can receive one regular HEAP benefit each program year and may qualify for emergency HEAP benefits if they face the risk of running out of fuel or having their utility service disconnected. The 2024-2025 Regular HEAP benefit commenced on November 1, 2024, while the First and Second Emergency benefits are set to open on January 2, 2025. Additionally, the Heating Equipment Repair and Replacement benefit became available on October 1, 2024, and the Cooling Assistance Benefit is scheduled to launch on April 15, 2025.
