Deschutes County Sheriff's Office

This initiative provides swift access to drug treatment for individuals, allowing them to seek assistance even if they are not involved in legal matters. In certain cases, police officers can take individuals straight to treatment facilities rather than to jail. The program collaborates with various entities including the court system, Parole and Probation, the District Attorney’s Office, and defense attorneys to assist those in need of treatment. Participants are assigned a peer navigator and benefit from comprehensive case management and wraparound services. These services may encompass support in acquiring birth certificates and identification, resume building, job searching, housing and transportation assistance, health insurance enrollment, medication-assisted treatment, detox services, coordination with ODHS, and referrals to additional resources.
