This program provides financial aid to livestock farmers who suffer grazing losses caused by drought or fire. The eligible livestock includes beef cattle, dairy cattle, buffalo, bison, beefalo, water buffalo, equines, goats, sheep, alpacas, ostriches, emus, deer, elk, caribou/reindeer, and llamas that are kept for commercial farming purposes.

Fees: Compensation is determined by the intensity of the drought as assessed by the U.S. Drought Monitor and the total number of livestock units. For losses due to fire, compensation is calculated based on the number of qualifying livestock and the grazing days that were lost.
