This initiative provides financial aid to Washington residents affected by disasters who do not qualify for alternative cash assistance programs. Eligibility hinges on being income-eligible for TANF. The program is activated for counties impacted by the wildfires in August 2026.
Application Process: Individuals can apply online and must then contact the Customer Service Contact Center to finalize their interview. Alternatively, applicants may complete the entire application process via phone by calling the Customer Service Contact Center. Each request necessitates a new application and interview.
Fees: There are no fees involved.

- Residents from Chelan, Douglas, Ferry, Okanogan, Spokane, Stevens, and Yakima counties, as well as the Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation, the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, and the Spokane Tribe of Indians who were affected by the August 2026 wildfires, must have suffered property or income loss, including inability to work. Generally, they must meet TANF income eligibility, but some households exceeding the limit may qualify if they have financial losses that will not be covered within 30 days, potentially lowering their countable income. Assistance is accessible regardless of citizenship status, and a Social Security number is not required.
