This initiative provides a seven-day emergency shelter for pets of individuals affected by domestic violence, necessitating a referral from a domestic violence agency or police officer. It does not accommodate livestock, exotic animals, or poisonous pets.
Intake Process: A domestic violence counselor or police officer must initiate the referral. The pet owner will need to complete a form indicating who will pick up the pets within the seven-day period, along with a contact phone number.
Cost: There are no fees involved.
