This program actively seeks and assesses families who are interested in adopting children currently in the custody of the Department of Children, Youth, and Families.
Intake Process: Interested parties should call, and the intake line is able to accept collect calls.
Costs: There are no fees involved.

- General adoption has no restrictions, while Special Needs Adoption is available for families with a child under 18 who is legally free, has special needs, and is either in state-funded foster care or eligible for federal adoption assistance.
