This initiative seeks to recruit and evaluate families who are interested in adopting children currently under the care and custody of the Department of Children, Youth, and Families.
Intake Process: Interested individuals should call, and the intake line will accept collect calls.
Costs: There are no fees associated with this process.

- General adoption has no restrictions, while Special Needs Adoption is available for families with children under 18 who are legally free, have special needs, and are in or likely to enter state-funded foster care or qualify for federal adoption assistance.
