Behavior specialists assess and determine the factors leading to problematic behaviors in individuals who may have various developmental disabilities, experiences of abuse and neglect, or mental health conditions. They collaborate with the individual, their family, and other support systems to create strategies aimed at preventing, reducing, or eliminating these behaviors. Additionally, specialists design and suggest interventions, teach necessary skills, and foster independence to enable individuals to thrive in their homes and communities.
