Under Utah law, birth parents have the option to anonymously surrender custody of their newborn without incurring legal penalties. Any hospital in Utah that operates 24/7 is recognized as a Safe Haven, enabling parents to safely leave their newborns there. The Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) subsequently arranges for the immediate adoption of the child.
