In Utah, birth parents have the option to anonymously surrender custody of their newborn without incurring any legal penalties. They can safely leave their child at any hospital that operates 24 hours, which is recognized as a Safe Haven. Following this, the Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) arranges for the child to be placed for immediate adoption.
