Salt Lake Third District Court

This state trial court has general jurisdiction over various civil and criminal cases, including serious felonies like homicides, assaults, drug offenses, forgery, arson, robbery, and some misdemeanors. A significant portion of its workload involves domestic relations issues, such as divorces, child custody and support, adoptions, and probate matters. Additionally, the court acts as an appellate body to review informal adjudicative actions from administrative agencies.
