In Utah, parents can relinquish custody of their newborn anonymously without any legal repercussions. Designated Safe Haven hospitals, which operate 24 hours a day, provide a secure location for parents to leave their infants. The Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) subsequently facilitates immediate adoption for the child.
