Inspectors monitor the food handling practices of kitchen staff, examine refrigerators and storage spaces, check food temperatures, and verify the proper use of sanitizers and handwashing techniques. Additionally, the bureau oversees temporary food events (booths) and large gatherings while providing food safety education to business owners, community organizations, and the public.
