This initiative focuses on the growth of low-income children or those with disabilities between the ages of 3 and 5. It provides educational resources, health services to ensure all children receive necessary immunizations, dental and physical examinations, as well as nutritional support.

- To qualify, applicants must meet one of the following criteria: family income at or below federal poverty levels; receiving specific public assistance (TANF/FEP or SSI); applying for a foster child in DCFS custody; or currently homeless. Additionally, Mountainland Head Start may accommodate a small number of children with special needs who do not meet standard eligibility requirements.
