This program provides financial support to low-income families, immigrants and refugees, pregnant women, and individuals who are elderly, blind, or disabled. The available programs include TANF/WorkFirst, AREN, Diversion Cash Assistance, Refugee Cash Assistance, and ABD.
Intake Process: Interested individuals can call, visit the website, or go to any Community Service Office (CSO) to request an application. Once the online or paper application is submitted, DSHS will send a letter detailing the interview process. Clients needing urgent financial help should consult their case manager. Additionally, the phone service includes a callback option (virtual hold) allowing callers to provide their number and receive a return call when it’s their turn. Callers may interact with multiple representatives; the first will be a navigator who assesses the call to decide if they can assist or if another qualified person should take over.
Costs: There are no fees associated with this service.
