This program offers nutrition and breastfeeding guidance as well as checks for healthy foods for women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at or below 185% of the Federal Poverty Level. WIC food benefits typically average around $60 per family, depending on the number of family members.

- To qualify for WIC, applicants must meet four requirements: reside in Washington (US citizenship is not a prerequisite), be a pregnant, postpartum, or breastfeeding woman, or have a child under 5 years old, have a household income below 185% of the Federal Poverty Level, and demonstrate a nutritional risk during the appointment.
