Rainier Scholars

This initiative offers a comprehensive 12-year educational pathway for students of color, beginning in 5th grade and culminating in college graduation. Enrollment occurs in the spring for students advancing to 5th grade.

Intake Procedure: Families wishing to apply to Rainier Scholars are required to attend a Family Information Meeting (available in Spanish), which takes place from November to January each year. During these sessions, the Recruitment team outlines the program, details the competitive admission process, addresses inquiries, and distributes the application form. Applicants must be in 4th grade at the time of application. Teachers and community members are encouraged to nominate deserving students. More details can be found on the online nomination form.

Fees: There are no fees for the program. However, accepted scholars will incur a transportation fee during the two summer sessions of the Academic Enrichment phase, which ranges from $25 to $600 based on family income.
