Municipal judges are permitted to conduct civil marriage ceremonies during their off-duty hours.
Application Process: Requests must be submitted online at least 8 weeks prior to the ceremony. For weddings taking place in the courthouse, the total number of attendees is restricted to 8, which includes the couple.
Fees: Payments must be made in cash with exact change. For off-site ceremonies (not at the courthouse) within King County, the couple selects the location, and fees vary based on distance and time involved.
